Home News Room NEC Face Recognition Technology Ranks First in NIST Accuracy Testing Tokyo, Japan, February 8, 2024 — NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced that its face recognition technology has been ranked the world’s most accurate in a benchmark test*1 conducted by the globally recognized U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)*2. In this benchmark test, NEC received the highest performance evaluation in "1:N Identification,"*3 which consists of still images of 12 million different people, by achieving an authentication accuracy rate of 99.88%.
