Summary LittleBigPlanet 3 and its DLC are being delisted from the PlayStation Store, marking the end of an era for PlayStation. Players will no longer be able to easily obtain LittleBigPlanet 3 for PS4 and PS5. Media Molecule, the original developer, has not announced its next project. Today is the end of an era for PlayStation, as today is when LittleBigPlanet 3 and all of its DLC are delisted from the PlayStation Store. LittleBigPlanet was once one of PlayStation's major franchises, with the platforming series finding a great deal of success on the PlayStation 3 back in the day. The LittleBigPlanet franchise flourished on the PS3, with the original game and its sequel both earning rave reviews from critics and significant commercial success. Sony expanded on the LittleBigPlanet IP through spin-offs, including a PSP release, a PlayStation Move-oriented game, a PS Vita version, a kart racing game, and an endless runner. Something new related to the LittleBigPlanet series was released every single year from 2008 to 2012, with the franchise skipping 2013 only to come back in 2014 with Run Sackboy! Run! and LittleBigPlanet 3. Related LittleBigPlanet Developer Working on New IP A recent job listing confirms that LittleBigPlanet and Dreams developer Media Molecule's next game will be based on a brand-new IP. Unfortunately, the LittleBigPlanet servers were targeted in DDoS attacks in 2021 that saw their online services shut down. Sony tragically left the PS3 LittleBigPlanet servers dead, but it eventually brought LittleBigPlanet 3 back online. In 2024, a separate technical issue prompted Sony to permanently shut down LittleBigPlanet 3's online multiplayer functionality, leaving the millions of levels created by fans over the course of the three main series games to be lost to the void. Understandably, many LittleBigPlanet fans were upset when the LBP3 servers were shut down, and now things are even worse for the franchise. While it's still available to purchase from the PlayStation Store at the time of this writing, LittleBigPlanet 3 is being delisted today, marking the end of an era for the PlayStation brand. LittleBigPlanet 3 is Being Delisted LittleBigPlanet 3's departure from the PlayStation Store means that, unless one tracks down a physical copy, it will be impossible for newcomers to play the game on their PS4 and PS5 systems. All of LittleBigPlanet 3's DLC is being delisted as well, meaning that platforming fans on PlayStation are losing out on a lot of content today. The heart and soul of LittleBigPlanet was always its user-generated content, and so many may have already dismissed the games after their servers were shut down, but this delisting is certainly the final nail in the coffin. With LittleBigPlanet 3 no longer easily obtainable through the PlayStation

Store on PS4 and PS5, it seems Sony has completely moved on from traditional LBP games. Fans will no doubt have their fingers crossed that Sony will revive LittleBigPlanet down the line, but that remains to be seen. The latest console release was 2020's Sackboy: A Big Adventure, which is a co-op platformer that ditched the user-generated content angle. Ultimate Sackboy, meanwhile, is a mobile endless runner that came out in 2023 to middling reception. Original LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule has yet to announce its next project, but fans shouldn't hold their breath that it's a LittleBigPlanet revival. Released On: Nov 18, 2014 My Score Hover and click to give a rating Saved A tricky and challenging single-player game, joyously mad multiplayer action, and an incredibly in-depth creator mode combine to deliver what is without doubt, the best LittleBigPlanet game yet. Wonderful stuff. The Adventure mode at the center of LittleBigPlanet 3 is a grand showcase of bold imagination like nothing else out there, with a wellspring of charm and warm-natured humor at its heart. Even so, Sumo Digital's brief 4-5 hours of polished, pre-made contributions pale in comparison to what could be – but that's essentially the point. This is a very good game. Very good... But the servers were disabled. I really want to turn them back on or speed up maintenance. I'm ready to save up and pay. How much do I need? I recommended this good story and two player and good day It still is a charming mix of Jump’N’Run and editor. But while Sumo Digital managed to enhance the latter, the light footed magical approach to the Story of the first got lost – obviously that was one of Media Molecule's specialties. We don’t know if this is no longer Media Molecule’s LittleBigPlanet series, but Sumo Digital has done a nice job with its third iteration. There’s also no doubt that the game will be supported with awesome and limitless user generated content. LittleBigPlanet 3 is not a revolution, rather an evolution. Sumo Digital gives its contribution to the series with three new and really different characters and brings the players more naturally to the Creation workshop. Fine, but we're expecting something deeper now. LittleBigPlanet is once again its own worst enemy, as it fails to make the best use of its own fun new characters. Although the creation tools are the most accessible they’ve ever been. LittleBigPlanet 3 is still a charming platformer and creative sandbox at heart, yet without the full attention of Media Molecule, it feels like it sorta lost its soul. I grew up with this game and i absolutely love it still to this day The third part of the series is not as varied and funny as the second. But you can still play together and have fun. The game is alright, the story's plot is pretty cool, the create mode, I say, is a bit too much, and the loading? Competes probably against Sonic '06.

| August 8, 2016 | | Comments count:0 Project Spark arguably had the most powerful and in-depth creation tools of any sandbox game on the market, letting players build large 3D worlds from scratch as well as add AI behavior and create full quests for their characters. Some of the very best Project Spark creations felt like beta versions of The Legend of Zelda or Fable. Project Spark could also be used to make platformers, racers, real-time strategy games, and even movies. Microsoft Studios seemed to fulfill its promise: the possibilities truly were endless when it came to Project Spark.Yet, Project Spark never achieved the same level of acclaim of similar titles such as LittleBigPlanet and Super Mario Maker. In May, Microsoft officially pulled the plug on Project Spark, although the publisher had stopped developing add-ons for the game months before. You can’t even download Project Spark to your Xbox One or PC anymore, and even if you already have it on your hard drive, it will be unplayable as of August 12 when the servers shut down. But that’s a real shame, because it means the end of one of the most innovative, albeit flawed, titles in gaming. Here’s what went wrong with Project Spark:A Promising Debut at the Worst Possible TimeFrom the beginning, Project Spark was a victim of poor timing and even worse business decisions. The project began as an evolution of ideas developed by Microsoft using Kodu Game Lab, a programming tool long available for Windows and the Xbox 360 that, while well-received, isn’t exactly well-known.That’s not necessarily the kiss of death in gaming, of course. The real stab to the heart was the way Project Spark was introduced to the world. Microsoft unveiled Project Spark during its otherwise abysmal E3 2013 presentation. You might remember that as the conference that almost sank the Xbox One before it was even released. While Project Spark’s powerful creation tools impressed attendees, the internet was too enraged by the requirement that the newly unveiled Xbox One would require a constant internet connection to use and would restrict used game sales for the title to get much attention. Project Spark‘s bright and family-friendly reveal wasn’t enough to put a smile on the faces of the Xbox’s most hardcore fans. The timetable for Project Spark‘s promotion and release definitely wasn’t helped by its competitors, such as toys-to-life games Skylanders and Disney Infinity,

It's alright, and the servers are up, so that's the greatest thing about it, still fun though. Extremely short main story. Long loading times, and lots of loading to be had. Game just isn't as imaginative and fun as LBP 1, which I loved. I played two previous games with my friends and it was pure coop fun. However, this one feels fake. Built-in Ethernet port.PlayStation 3First released on November 11, 2006 in Japan (followed a week later by its North American debut), the PlayStation 3 sold more than 80 million units worldwide and competed against Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. Launching at $599.99, it was the most expensive system of the bunch, but it was the first console to have a Blu-ray drive and was priced cheaper that most standalone Blu-ray players when it launched. At the heart of the PS3 was its proprietary Cell processor. Sony designed the chip in partnership with Toshiba and IBM. However, the CPU became controversial among developers due to how difficult it was to program. The Cell featured seven cores and was clocked at 3.2GHz. The PS3’s graphics used Nvidia’s RSX Reality Synthesizer GPU, which featured 256MB of VRAM and clocked in at 550MHz. The PS3 was also the first PlayStation system to support HDMI and 1080p output.Initial versions of the PS3 were backward compatible with PS2 games, but that was because Sony physically incorporated a PS2 processor inside the chassis. To cut costs, Sony later removed this feature shortly after launch. The PlayStation 3 also introduced Wi-Fi connectivity and came with a 20GB internal hard drive. It allowed users to install their own HDD as well.Additionally, the console also saw the birth of the PlayStation Network, which allowed players to download games and use video-viewing apps like Netflix and YouTube. In addition, the PS3 introduced the company’s PlayStation Plus subscription service, which provided gamers with early access to betas and game discounts. The PS3 also introduced the DualShock 3, which was the first wireless version of Sony’s long-running controller. On top of that, the DS3 also featured motion-sensing technology. Piggybacking off the success of the Nintendo Wii, Sony would release its own PlayStation Move motion controller for the PS3 in 2010.Competed against: Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox 360Notable games: The Last of Us, Grand Theft Auto IV/V, Uncharted 2/3, LittleBigPlanet, Red Dead Redemption, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, God of War IIIPlayStation 3 SlimSony released the PS3 slim in September 2009.
