After years of speculation, Star Wars finally revealed who saved Grogu from Order 66. The Mandalorian season 3, episode 4, “The Foundling” brought the answers audiences were looking for, and it proved a lot of theories wrong. Artist Greg Bain (@gregbain) shared an incredible illustration celebrating “The Foundling,” combining several elements from the episode. Kelleran Beq, the Jedi who saved Grogu from Order 66, is front and center in this fanart that also features Din Djarin, Grogu, Bo-Katan, Ragnar, Paz Visla, the Armorer, and the Shriek-hawk. Though “The Foundling” references Grogu’s Mandalorian status at that point in the story, the episode’s title also ties into the Child being rescued by Kelleran Beq during the Jedi Purge. Why Was Kelleran Beq The Jedi Who Rescued Grogu? Ahmed Best originally played Jar Jar Binks in the Star Wars prequels through motion capture and voice work. The actor would return to Star Wars decades later in Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, a Star Wars game show aimed at younger audiences, as Kelleran Beq. Jedi Master Kelleran Beq was in charge of training Younglings and Padawans at the Jedi Temple. Though Jedi Temple Challenge was a game show, its characters and their backstories are considered Star Wars canon. Therefore, in terms of the story, it made a lot of sense for Kelleran Beq to rescue Grogu from the Jedi Temple during the Jedi Purge. Grogu was probably one of the Padawans trained by Kelleran Beq. Ahmed Best has been doing some interviews lately around May 4th and The Phantom Menace‘s 25th anniversary, and has announced his desire to a Star Wars action film in a John Wick-style as his Jedi character Kelleran Beq.In an interview with ComicBook.com, he explained that the action and martial arts we saw on display from Kelleran Beq in The Mandalorian was about 0.01% of what he can actually do.I keep putting this out there.
